It's noted that SRC is organizing OC Camp.
Although it is trimester break now, other than SRC event, there are also other students activity/meeting.
The reason of my post here is because:
OC Camp did not reasonably organize their event by choosing right venue.
Although i'm not clear with their program and what they are doing there, but, having a 'making noise' and disruption at the FBL lobby entrance is definitely not acceptable.
1) Other students meeting in FBL lobby being disrupted (even with two layer of glass door closed- you can imagine the noise those future OCs made)
2) Obstructing people to enter FBL by main entrance. The condition is just like 'pasar malam'. Those having meeting in FBL lobby are so disappointed with those OCs who will become the leader for freshie. We thought university student especially those selected by SRC will reflecting a good image to others, but, seems the result is disappointing.
3) Because it's hard to continue our meeting with the 'pasar malam' noise, we tried to complain to the security guard outside. However, again, we got a frustrating answer.
The guard said, "they are having orientation, we can do nothing." Being an co-co active students, we had so many restriction and unreasonable security order by MMU security. However, they seems not dare to order SRC for anything but instead to bully members of other small society. It this double standard? SRC please take notice on this.
below are two photos i had taken from FBL lobby.
Also, there are video clip about the 'noisy' condition if anyone request for it.

Dear anon,
I apologize for the inconvenience caused. We are only carrying out our duties.
I guess the 'making noise' and disruption mentioned above is caused by the modules of the program. For your information, we were running a simulation. Well, during an orientation, OC's need to face all kinds of problems, not only with the students, but also parents and staffs as well. And the noise, YES, i guess its from the spirit of everyone. Let me tell you why spirit is important in events like orientation(although i'm sure you know why), together, we need to bring up our freshies. I did not use the freshies, but our freshies, well, i think you should know why. With this spirit, i believe is very very important to lead a new batch. I was one of them shouting too. We want to see how new batch of OC's(leaders) react to unexpected situations. I guess the program outcome/expectation will be clearly understand by all who had gone through the orientation camp.
As for obstructing the main entrance, we did try our best to give way when there was a need. I was the one who managed the camp. The venue, surely was decided and i was involved in the decision. The reason we did it in campus, are very simple i guess. Firstly, we need to make the OC's close to the campus; Cost factor; Time; etc etc etc.
As for disturbance during your meeting, if there is a next time, kindly tell us, and i'm sure we will rationally consider an solution. Isn't that win-win???
About the security guard, well, i'm not sure what they were thinking, we seriously did not 'buy' them up. What we did was as simple as asking permission to carry out our duty there. Besides, IMHO, orientation is very very important, don't you think so?? i feel that there are a lot of future leaders in MMU Clubs and Societies come from Orientation Programmes. Double-standard?? I do not think so. Please do not feel that SRC is something big. I feel that we are just people with the responsibility to stand up for the students-voices of the students. Please clear off the perception that SRC is more than you(if you think so). Hmm.. and while carry out the simulation, as no one complaints it during that time(at least when i was there), i thought that there was no problems. I may have overlooked at that and i am truely sorry. But if you could let us know earlier, i guess you wouldnt have felt this way.
All in all, i again apologize for the convenience caused, and i hope that you understand our situation. We tried our best to be as down to earth as possible, and serve you better. Hope you understand that. Kindly leave a message for further comments, or my contact can be found on SRC posters. TQ!
Take care and do have a great holiday!
