Students' Representative Council 2007/2008 Election

Multimedia University (Malacca campus) Students' Representative Council's election for the academic term 2007/2008 was held on 22 November 2007. The contested territories were General and International. Other territories were not contested as the nominees of those territories were not opposed therefore won uncontested.

The General territory offers five seats whereas the International territory offers two. Seven candidates contested for the General territory while five candidates contested for the International territory.

On 20th Sept. 2007 (Trimester 1), the election committee had tried to conduct an election for MMU Malacca however due to some technical difficulties involving the servers and voting software used, the election had to cancelled. All votes cast on that day were considered invalid.

This however did not deter the students from coming to vote once again to choose their representatives. Students lined up in CLC amidst their busy schedule to exercise their voting right from the minute the election process started till the end.

This time around, the election went on smoothly with no setbacks and at 5pm that day the result was announced. Wong Teck Chee, Liang Weng Keong, Mohd Irfan Bin Zainal Abidin, Mohd Hamdan Bin Mohd Sharif and Lee Chong Hong were the successful candidates for the General Territory. Similarly, Osama Sadeq Mohammed Ali AL_hamdany and Khalil Saeed Mohammed Abdulsalam were the winning candidates of the International territory.
