Need writers/articles for Speak Up!

Dear all,

As we all know, the first edition of Speak Up! was distributed during Moments with SRC. The article entitled "Server Down Again?" was written by our Rakan Exco Fiona.

We are now looking for new issues to write about and articles to be included in the upcoming edition. The issue/article should be something that is of concern to the MMU students and something that will draw their attention. You may refer to the latest welfare issues posted by Yeo or the SRC Blog to get some ideas.

Anyone who is willing to contribute to the second edition of Speak Up! kindly send me an email at Nicholas.G5@gmail.com. Clubs are highly encouraged to participate as well.

The deadline for submission will be next Friday 2nd May 2008 by midnight.

Kindly forward this along to your friends.

Thank you.

What the heck? MMU is becoming a CELCOM XpaX promotion centre!! Even there is a new board of Xpax nearby the exam hall and CITS. There are wasting money just for that? Better they use that money to make a shaded walk path from in front of library to the old fosee (FSER) block!! One more issue is coming up, there are rumors saying that by next semester, the tuition fees will go up by 20% just for student ID that starts with 106XXXXXXX and above! What the hell?

to anonymous..

firstly, about rumours, there was no real fact or true sources on that yet.Rumours is eveywhere..

secondly,ur queries about the shaded path. This matter already brought up to FMD by SRC.The shaded path between cits and library already approved, and currently at the design process with the vendor. We also try our best to get the shaded path between CLC and hostel,as well as old fosee with library. The old fosee and library may take some time as it would take more study in term of design and costs with vendor, since FMD need to particular with the standard requirement set up by Fire Department. So,don't worry, this issue already under progress.

Furthermore, currently FMD is improving the area behind the library,as well as to build new car park for the parking issue that had not come to solution since 3 years ago.The triangle area beside the EP is MMU land, and it will be converted to parking lot asap, before the coming new intake-as approved-so,I really hope all of u to support us,and the problem can be settle up one by one..

thanks for asking that,we'll have a check on the rumours u said just now.

Well, i guess SRC could do something about this matter... Well you see, FIST computer labs are damn obsolete, still using win98 for god sake! RAM just 64MB? Go checkout microprocessor lab in FIST block B 1st floor! Some other labs also. So stupid, FIST is a faculty of info technology, they should be using windowsXP at least nowadays, the RAM should be around 512MB at least!! You see, currently most of the pc's are damn slow for execution of software for learning! For god sake, CITS pc is damn better than FIST! What the heck! It suppose to be another way round! Moreover, this Money Making University really "cheapskate" la, could not afford to buy antiviruses for the pc's in labs@cits@library. I know that other Universities also dont have antivirus in their pc's but, just look at MMU name itself.

Thanks to anon above..i'll take note on that, really thanks to give such info.Currently we're on progress on the issue of insufficient equipment and facilities in FET lab during lab session. We'll take note on that.Hope it can be solved asap.[study week,we need to break awhile,to focus on study first.I'll make sure it'll be in the action after final exam.]
