Complaint Collection & Rakan Exco Recruitment

From 10 December 2007 till 14 December 2007 the Students’ Welfare Division(SWD) of the SRC had set up a booth at Plaza Siswa. The booth was set up to enable students to submit their complaints regarding any issues, departments, clubs/societies, individuals, etc to the SRC excos manning the booth. During this period, recruitment for Rakan Excos was also carried out. Rakan Excos are MMU students who would assist SRC excos in various tasks.

Throughout the 4 days period that the booth was set up, many complaints were received.

Some of the complaints are:

  1. SAPS points – SAPS point not updated in time.
  2. Chinese New Year holidays – Only 1 day of holiday given.
  3. Wild dogs in Taman Dahlia – Dangerous to walk on the road as the dogs often chase pedestrians.
  4. Bird droppings around hostel area – Very smelly. Hygienic problems to residents.
  5. Lack of shaded path between FSER and library, car park and CLC Concourse, CLC Concourse and Law School.
  6. Accommodation issue – A lot of complaints regarding the utility fees of IXORA.
  7. Car Park – Insufficient parking spaces.
  8. Insurance – Beta year and above not covered comprehensively for local students.
  9. Security – To request for CCTV and more lighting around campus.
  10. Refund policy – To get explanation about this policy.

SWD excos collected and sorted these complaints and later took the appropriate measures to deal with issues raised in the complaints. Some of the issues had already been settled as evidenced by these bulletins:

  1. Update on issue of PTPTN loan holders being barred!
  2. Update on Exam Slip Issue
  3. Chinese New Year Holidays 2008
  4. Complaints forwarded to Facilities Management Division (FMD)

SRC would like to thank all students who came forward to voice their complaints.

We also kindly request you to be patient and give us a little bit of time as we take the appropriate measures to solve all problems that you are facing as soon as possible.
